Alice Sandiford joined Rosen Sunshine LLP as an associate lawyer in 2026 after summering and articling with the largest operational ministry in the Ontario government. Alice advises and represents professionals, institutions, and individuals on a broad range of health law, regulatory, administrative, and privacy matters. Her practice includes professional regulation, health advisory, human rights matters, privacy issues, and tribunal advocacy. She is committed to providing practical, responsive, and thoughtful legal advice tailored to each client's needs.
Before joining Rosen Sunshine, Alice gained experience across a diverse range of matters involving advisory work, litigation, and professional regulation. She has appeared before administrative tribunals and courts, including the Ontario Police Arbitration and Adjudication Commission, the Animal Care Review Board, and the Small Claims Court. She has conducted direct and cross examinations, delivered oral submissions, and assisted counsel on complex litigation files. She has also played a significant role in coroner's inquests, assisting with disclosure reviews, witness preparation, litigation strategy, and submissions in matters involving significant public interest, operational, and policy considerations. Through these matters, she developed familiarity with reviewing and analyzing medical and health-related records and working alongside a wide range of healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, veterinarians, and other experts.
Alice earned her J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, graduating in the International, Comparative, and Transnational Law Stream. There, she was awarded the Institute for Feminist Legal Studies Vanguard Award for her continuous research on Indigenous women's reproductive rights. She also completed semester in the Master of Laws program at Trinity College Dublin, a placement in the Superior Court of Justice – Criminal Division, and was a proud member of the Osgoode Hockey Team.
Before law school, Alice attended the University of Waterloo, earning an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies and Business, with a minor in Philosophy. Alice's interest in health law long predates her degrees. As a youth, she was actively involved in fundraising initiatives for hospitals and health-related charities, experiences that sparked an early appreciation for the people and institutions that deliver care in our communities.
Outside the office, Alice is a lifelong athlete who has played ringette competitively since childhood. She is also an enthusiastic home cook, and collector of vintage fashion and physical media. She can often be found exploring Toronto's restaurant scene, perusing the stacks, or attending live music events.
