Emma Gardiner to Present “Keeping Up with the Case Law” at OBA Administrative Law Section Program

Emma Gardiner will be presenting at the Ontario Bar Association’s Administrative Law Section program, Keeping up with the Case Law, on April 9, 2026 at 8:30 a.m.

Emma will be speaking about Afolabi v. Law Society of Ontario, 2025 ONCA 257, a Court of Appeal of Ontario decision addressing cheating on licensing examinations.

The case includes helpful analysis on the distinction between a regulator’s administrative functions and quasi-judicial functions, and how that distinction can affect procedural fairness rights.
